Colin Bell was born in and currently resides in Toronto, Ontario,
Canada. He has been happily married for nearly 19 years and has two
wonderful children. Formerly an aircraft technician, working for
companies like McDonnell-Douglas/Boeing, Colin now - after earning
his A+ and MCSE accreditations - works on projects in the
computer networking field.
Colin's been designing courses for the PC for about 10 years starting
with Accolade's Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf sim. He wasn't on the
internet back then yet still designed local area courses such as the
Jack Nicklaus gem, Glen Abbey Golf Club, chiefly so he and his friends
could compete in a computer sim version of the "Canadian Open".
Upon the release of Sierra Sport's PGA Championship Golf 2000, he -
like many other PC golf enthusiasts - realized that it was time to
get connected and begin to design and share courses like Glen Abbey.
Not to mention sharing his own designs; notably TPCC (Tournament
Players Cyber Course) @ Tucson. He's especially proud of Tucson
which at its peak had over 600 downloads - not too badly received for a
user designed course that was rarely if ever chosen as a venue by the
cyber tours at the time.
He was briefly a course reviewer for the venerable Copyright Club,
with close to 70 cyber course reviews completed for almost every
real course rendition - along with a
host of excellent user designed layouts by designers like Chris Clouser,
Dale Somerfelt and fellow CustomPlayDesign teammate Brian Silvernail.
Recently Colin's turned his attentions to designing cyber courses for
CustomPlayGame's CustomPlayGolf, and is currently working on 5 new projects.
He's concurrently working on a revised version of a course he originally
designed for PGA Championship Golf 2000 called Muskoka Dells Golf Links which
will very likely be the first course he releases for CustomPlayGolf,
hopefully by late spring of 2006.
For his personal enjoyment Colin likes reading, writing, golfing, cycling and
swimming.
